Hey there, I thought I would post a thread on the site about what is and isn't allowed as far as werewolves / shape shifters go on this site. Please make sure to read it thoroughly and if there are any questions about this feel free to send staff a PM or ask about it in our Information Booth board.
SHAPE SHIFTERS
Shape shifters can shift into their animal form at their own will. They do not have to wait for a full moon or whatnot in order for them to be able to shift. They also do not necessarily have to be wolves, though those are the most common variety of shape shifter. They can be in the form of any animal. While they are not in their animal form they appear to be fully human, and any abilities they may have in their animal form are not retained in their human form. This is a rare ability and we probably won't be allowing a lot of shape shifters on the site – other than the canon characters, or the occasional non canon shape shifter to even things out. Shape shifters usually are very strong and very fast, and difficult to kill. Shape shifters usually live longer than most humans would – they may appear t be a certain age, where in fact they are older. Basically, unless you are a canon applying to be a shape shifter, you'll need to request permission from staff before applying. Thanks!
WEREWOLVES
Werewolves are creatures that turn into a wolf at the full moon. There is no cure for their infliction. It is usually something that is caused by a werewolf bite, or by genetics. If someone is born as a werewolf, it means one of their parents (usually the father) is a werewolf. If the father is a werewolf, then the child will also be a werewolf. If it's the mother then the child will be human, and show the traits of the human father. Werewolves only change at the full moon, and it is not easily controlled, as is a shape-shifters abilities.
VAMPIRES
It is known that humans can be turned into vampires, and vampire venom is nothing more than a deadly poison to animals. Shapes hifters cannot be turned, however much like animals, the venom acts as a deadly poison giving them a slow and very painful death. Vampires themselves are feral, predatory creatures, far more savage and beast-like than their human appearance suggests. They growl, snarl, hiss, and curl their lips back baring their teeth as signs of aggression when provoked. Even older "civilized" vampires (ex. the Cullens) can break their human facade and show their animal instincts. When they sense danger, they go almost immediately into a defensive crouch, after which they bare their teeth as a sign of warning. If the warning is not heeded, they will let out a feral snarl and attack. Fighting, vampires use both their hands (grappling) and their teeth. Their bites can sever the limbs of their opponent (vampire teeth are known to be able to cut through their skin) as well as kill (ripping out the throat). Their grappling can tear off limbs and is known as a better way to fight than just going for the kill (inexperienced vampires and newborns are the only ones that do so). Despite their nature, vampires are also capable of feelings, such as love, beauty, protection, compassion, care, respect, self-control, empathy and remorse.
Blood is the only component of a vampire's diet in the Twilight series. If a vampire fails to drink blood, it results in them weakening mentally, inhibiting their ability to think with rational thought, and ultimately resulting in them losing all sense of humanity and rationality. To a vampire, the taste of blood varies on a massive basis. Due to their acute senses, they can detect whether or not a human has recently consumed alcohol or drugs, because their blood tastes unclean and can leave a vampire with a nasty aftertaste. Although it is very slight, a vampire who consumed human blood is slightly stronger. This is the reason newborn vampires are so much more stronger, because their human blood still lingers in their body. This however, doesn't last very long as the venom naturally consumed this blood throughout the course of the newborn year. This doesn't go to say that a vampire who isn't a newborn or doesn't feed on human blood are not strong. A vampire who chooses to abstain from drinking human blood and instead drinks the blood of an animal is referred to as a vegetarian vampire.
HYBRIDS
A human-vampire hybrid is the result of a successful mating between a human and a vampire, sharing many traits of both species. Male vampires have the capacity to pass on genetic material with a human female partner. However, it is beyond the ability of most vampires to be so close to a human physically and still resist the lure of his/her blood. So far, the only known hybrids are Renesmee Cullen, Nahuel, and Nahuel's three half-sisters, Serena, Jennifer, and Maysun. The three sisters are named after their late mothers. Vampire hybrids have both human and vampire traits. They are supernaturally much stronger and faster than humans, with sharper senses, but are not as strong, fast, or sharp as a pure vampire. They have perfect memory recall and develop mentally at a rate far faster than their chronological and biological age, speaking in complete sentences and walking just days after birth. Some of them also show supernatural gifts, which could be related to those shown by their parents. These types of characters will only be allowed if they are canon, or if you request permission from an admin first (and we give permission).
HALF-HUMANS
We will not be allowing half-humans on the site. Werewolves and shape-shifters are different, because they aren't half of something. When they are in their human forms they are fully human and they do not retain the physical appearance or other traits of their animal form while they are human. A half human is a character that has human features and animal features, and doesn't have the ability to transform, either at a full moon or at will. These characters were not mentioned in the twilight series, and therefore they will not be allowed on the site and will be immediately denied.
